The Human Development and Research Centre (HDRC) proudly claims to have a very well stocked and rich library. The Library of the centre stands for the mission : “To Provide Right Information to Readers at the Right Time”.
At present, there are 7100 books, 600 bound volumes, 1000 articles for course & training materials, 150 Audio-visual materials related to a wide basket of subjects like management, social development, economic development, community development, Women development, Rural development, Natural resource development,, Economics, Dalit & tribal issues, Women & gender issues, Caste & political issues, Entrepreneurship, Micro-credit-finance, Co-operatives etc. In addition to these, the library offers the readers a variety of 45 magazines and periodicals on various topics to choose from and quench their thirst for knowledge. The highly specialised collection of valuable and rare books of Indian and foreign origin is closely linked with the Postgraduate Programme in Development Management and Fellowship Programme in Development courses; Training Programmes and Research.
The Library uses and also offers state-of-art computer technology to its users for easy and speedy access to the library resources. The library uses computerization facilities for information storage and retrieval, supported by Eight PC terminals linked with LAN. Computerized database allows document search through title, Author, Subject, Keyword in title, Keyword and ISBN etc.
Apart from its own stock of resources, the Library also has Institutional membership of British Library to provide the readers a wider access to various books and other materials also; it offers to borrow books from other libraries through Inter Library Loan system on request by student & staff members.
