Area : Asarwa (haji sattar ni chali, rasool kadiya ni chali, jd nagri ni chali, ramesh chadra vakeel ni chali)
Ward : Asarwa City : Ahmedabad State : Gujarat
Total Numbers of houses : 300

Background and Issues : The people living here mostly are Muslims and belong to Devi Pujak community. Issues and questions of the people of this area were pertaining to Street lights, sewage system, water supply, proper roads, crimes, unemployment, and proper healthcare initially it was a difficult task to make these two community work together and teach them. According to the needs of the people our institutions started working on them.

Initially in these regions the ladies didn’t turn up for the different meetings and trainings held by our institution. Our institution arranged R.T.I trainings in that area and also trained them in the process of filing a case. With the training the ladies started filing their cases. After meeting with the councilor we held a meeting for the area where we discussed all their problems and issues raised by the people. From the corporation’s budget they decided to work on water supply, sewage system, paving of better roads in the respective areas, construction of common washrooms and also maintaining the bridge. The ladies also put forward their request to the corporation to put a stop to all the drug and the alcohol businesses running under that bridge. The ladies appealed to the police for 7 times for the same matter but they didn’t see any change. The corporation and the police dismissed their requests and appeals several times. Therefore, they started a rally in which 2000 people joined forces. To combat this problem they decided to release the press note in the newspapers. Ladies of other areas hearing this also joined forces. The corporation looking at the force of this movement itself started working for this problem filing this case in the Gandhingar office.

Consequence of our efforts
Due to the diligence of the people and our institution we were successful to bring about change in the positive direction, establishing good roads ,water supply got better, electricity was made available 24 hours, and most importantly unemployment was curbed .
